About me ~ The story behind the name
Gallop and Glaze Studio, LLC. It's clear that there's a connection to horses, and I'm thrilled about embarking on this new venture. My name is Tracy Massey, and I've been riding since the age of four. Galloping has always been my preferred pace. It's intertwined with my life's journey and my art. I've explored various mediums, including watercolors, acrylics, China painting, sewing, crafting, mural painting, and now, hand-building ceramics. I learned China painting in the nineties, always using pre-made porcelain for my work. China painting is a form of Over Glazing. Presently, I'm crafting stoneware and porcelain pieces, employing both Underglaze and Overglaze techniques.
Selecting a name can be challenging, but with the assistance of a dear friend, Dawn, and Chat GPT, the name 'Gallop and Glaze Studio' resonates perfectly. As they say, the rest is history, but truly, this name embodies the essence of the business. Galloping through life and various art forms, I've come full circle to Glazing, but this time, I have the joy of working with clay.
